Estrella Taqueria, Windsor

There are dueling Mexican markets on a little slice of pavement off the US 101 at the Arata Lane between Windsor and Healdsburg. The one I stopped at, Estrella has a full market inside and a full meat counter.

I ordered my usual, one carnitas and one pastor taco with everything. The red salsa they splashed my tacos with had an even heat and a little pop on the finish. Of the two meats, I’d have to say advantage to the pastor as the carnitas were not crispy and refried. In terms of pure meat and almost no fat, the carnitas offered were real prime cuts.
