Dennison's Chili con Carne, Guilty Pleasure

Dennison’s Chili and Hot Dogs. Yet another guilty pleasure of mine, Dennison’s Chili con Carne (no beans) with hot dogs and yellow cheese spooned into a bowl and eating steaming hot. Yes, I wrote “yellow cheese” because a Sharp Cheddar isn’t needed for this meal. I had no idea Dennison's has been spooning it out since 1915.

Here’s what I do. Open can and empty contents in the skillet. Chop hot dogs and add to chili. Heat through. Pour half the contents into a bowl and top with cheese. Done.

It’s all about the flavor of the chili. It’s creamy. It sort of reminds me of Der Weinerschnitzel chili cheese dogs, but not quite. It’s chock full of fat and sodium. It’s horrible for you and I love it.

Guilty Pleasure, Tater Tots

Kid Food. Stoner Food. Junk Food.

Call it whatever you like, I have loved tater tots since I was a kid. Sure, the public school cafeteria didn't always do them right. The bag of frozen taters had that funky smell after they were baked. McDonald's breakfast Hash Browns are almost like a flattened tater and has a certain nostalgic appeal.

When tater tots are made fresh and seasoned with nothing but salt, there's nothing more wonderful than powering down a bowl of these taters. Thank you Tipsy Pig for making these exactly right.

The Cured Ham eats McDonald's Breakfast

Yet another guilty pleasure of mine is McDonald's Hash Browns and an Egg McMuffin. Call it nostalgia or just being a kid again, there is something satisfying about this breakfast sandwich.

A Cured Ham Guilty Pleasure

Yes, yes. The Cured Ham is lucky to eat out on a regular basis. For instance, I just had the Autumn Pasta Tasting Menu at Flour + Water just this week and yes, it was a lovely meal. But it can't be eight-course meals every night. Take for instance my meal at home this evening, green bell peppers and chicken hot dogs fried in olive oil.

I love this meal!
